The First Post You Wrote For The Rising: Digging Deep Into My Favorite Reads // part one. A three part series with thoughts on 15 of my favorite books!

One (Three) Book(s) You Would Recommend That People Read: As you can already tell from my first post here at The Rising, I am a bookworm. If you want more recommendations, check out my regular book reviews on my blog. The favorites that are on my mind at this moment, though, would be When I Don’t Desire God by John PiperDear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay, and If You Feel Too Much by Jamie Tworkowski.

Your music choice for a good day: My music taste is eclectic to say the least. On a good day, I’ll listen to anything from Frank Sinatra, to KB, to Tenth Avenue North, to the High School Musical soundtracks.

For a bad day: The possibilities are also endless here. But anything by Adele and the whole Red album by Taylor Swift can definitely give me a long, good cry.

Your coffee shop order: I haven’t found a coffee shop drink I hate. But I always gravitate towards Almond Joy Lattes.

Your ultimate dream job: Lord-willing, I want to be an author, a wife, and a momma. If these fall through, I’ll seriously consider opening my own bookstore or coffee shop.

Your guilty pleasure (of any variety): Usher, Maroon Five, and Netflix binges. Enough said. (And like Rachel, #TGIT is a big deal in my house!)

Something that changed your life forever: I’ve been to Uganda twice (in 2011 and 2014) and Ecuador once (2014). I sincerely cannot imagine my life without the experiences and the relationships that were nurtured through those trips. I may have only been gone for a few weeks at a time, but my heart is at home there. Feel free to contact me if you ever want to chat about these two beloved countries of mine or missions.

Tell Us One Random Fact About You: I am extremely introverted. I’ve been shy and quiet most of my life. But when I’m completely comfortable around you, I can be ridiculously sassy and bluntly honest.
